We propose a scheme to create universal Dicke states of n largely detunedatoms through detecting the leaky photons from an optical cavity. Thegeneration of entangled states in our scheme has quasi-unit successprobability, so it has potential practicability based on current or near cominglaboratory cavity QED technology.
